Rahmon Muminov is a Tajik artist who works in the genres of oil painting, mural painting, and graphic art. At the heart of his work are religion, the nature of power, gender inequality, as well as the aesthetics of time and its influence on history. For him, Time is also an artist who adds the finishing touches and gives each work its own unique character. His visual style, especially in his most recent works, deliberately mimics the passage of time: the canvases look aged and yellowed, the color palette is muted, and the surface appears as if it has weathered all the catastrophes of the 20th century.
Muminov graduated from the M. Osimi Architectural and Construction Technical School and is currently a senior in the Department of Design at the A. N. Kosygin Russian State University. His artistic vision was strongly influenced by the masters of the Renaissance and the Middle Ages. He has participated in more than five group and solo exhibitions; his solo project “The Fabric of Life” was highly praised by critics. The artist’s works are held in private collections in the United States, France, India, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, and Russia.
